Electronic Health Record Solutions
The electronic health record (EHR) will have a profound,
far-reaching impact on the business, management and
clinical processes of behavioral and public health
care organizations, thru efficiency and effectiveness in all areas of vital records management.
While specific standards are still
being discussed, the EHR has already begun to impact
the way we collect and manage information.
Netsmart
has the EHR solutions to help providers
and payers chart a clear, consistent path toward
an effective and integrated electronic health record strategy. Electronic
clinical expert technology® (eCET) , working with the
CMHC/MIS, brings extensive clinical content to the
desktop. eCET’s powerful capabilities - advanced
clinician data entry, document and workflow management,
digital signature and an integrated view of client
data - provide a solid foundation for organizations
moving toward EHR implementation.
eCET is a comprehensive
clinical decision support and outcomes management
system that helps agencies meet accountability requirements
of major payers and accrediting agencies. Clinical
data can be utilized and managed in accordance with
established local EHR criteria, reporting and medical billing requirements,
utilization directives, and funding and accreditation
standards.
With eCET, client data remains accurate,
complete and secure. At the same time, agency staff—intake
specialists, clinicians, transcriptionists, and billing
departments—can access an electronic health records, and work on their areas
of a client record, knowing the information they
need will be readily accessible and consistently
managed throughout the treatment process.
Intake
eCET moves the intake process along quickly and easily,
while providing the flexibility to recognize the
unique traits and circumstances of each client’s
situation.
eCET’s full range of Clinical
Intake modules include:
- Presenting problem
- Mental status
- Risk assessment
- Prior treatment history
- Alcohol and drug use
- Social history
- Physical health
- Diagnosis
- Disposition
- Referral
- Crisis plan
Assessment
eCET’s Assessment module includes tests and
reports to support the clinician’s work, including
the Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale Assessment
(AIMS). Agencies using eCET can also purchase additional
libraries of assessments, including the Addiction
Severity Index (ASI) as well as the Adaptive Behavior
Scales
- Residential and Community: 2 (ABS-RC:2), the
Adaptive Behavior Scales – School: 2 (ABS – S:
2) and others.
Medication Management
eCET’s Medication Management module tracks
agency-prescribed medications, non-agency-prescribed
medications and supplements and medications the client
is taking on his or her own.
Agency-prescribed medications
may be selected from a user-definable database or
entered in text boxes. Use of eCET’s Medication
Management module is restricted to agency-defined
credentialed individuals who prescribe medications
and/or receive medication orders at their agency.
Treatment Planning
eCET’s treatment planning module is highly
configurable to meet the varying work requirements
of different users and agencies. Users can create
treatment plans to accommodate agency or state-specific
requirements as well as accreditation standards.
The unique eCET Treatment Plan Content Manager lets
clinicians and other users define the treatment plan
content or template used with the eCET Treatment
Planning module. Content can be defined for up to
six levels and customized to meet agency requirements
and individual client needs. eCET treatment planning
templates accommodate multiple client populations
and age groups, while still allowing the addition
of agency designed material as needed.
Progress Notes
With eCET, clinicians can write individual or group
progress notes while viewing a treatment plan
outline. Each note is identified by a user-defined
note label and linked to a modality and problem
in the treatment plan prior to posting. The Group
Notes process is significantly expedited with
the Group Wizard, where members of a particular
group are automatically pre-selected based on
an assigned service in their care map.
Document Management and
Workflow
As the industry moves toward a true EHR, agencies
need to effectively manage documents and accommodate
multiple digital signatures for authorizations.
Clinicians utilizing eCET can use digital signatures—either
through a personal identification number or electronic
signature pad—to validate completed documents.
Where multiple signatures are required, documents
can be electronically routed for digital signatures.
In addition, other relevant documents can be easily
scanned and stored as the electronic health record using
Netsmart’s Integrated Records Management
System (IRMS) software.
