OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Aug. 09, 2021 — Netsmart, an industry-leading healthcare technology provider will participate in the annual 2021 HIMSS Global Health Conference and Exhibition (HIMSS21) August 9-13, 2021, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The human services and post-acute technology innovator will demonstrate the value of care coordination and interoperability across the entire healthcare continuum, empowering organizations to collaborate and coordinate care delivery for the whole person.
“HIMSS seeks to reform the global health ecosystem through the power of information and technology and this event gives us the opportunity to connect and engage with individuals and providers who are looking to do the same,” said Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine. “Our Netsmart strategy is to provide our partners with innovative tools that advance the vision for the future of the ever-changing healthcare ecosystem.”
Netsmart will be presenting at the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase, an interactive experience with demonstrations of health IT solutions sharing, accessing and using healthcare data in real-time displaying how providers and care organizations support continuity of care and improve outcomes. Attendees who visit the showcase can engage with Netsmart featured in two use cases that follow an individual’s journey across multiple care settings and various providers to discover how interoperable technology empowers better transitions of care.
Netsmart will demonstrate how to coordinate care with other health IT vendors and healthcare providers at the 360X Care Transitions for a COVID-19 Patient, exemplifying a patient’s complex journey progressing across hospitalization, skilled nursing and the home utilizing cutting edge technology of closed-loop referrals. The Managing Mental Health & Pain Management showcase illustrates safely coordinating the care of a patient from a hospital into the community setting accounting for the individual’s physical, behavioral and social needs, ultimately connecting the individual to a broader care team for informed healthcare decision making. The Interoperability Showcase is located in the Caesars Forum Conference Center Booth C200 and self-guided tours will run during the following hours:

Tuesday, August 10, 9:30 am – 6:00 pm
-

In addition, Netsmart will be hosting an afternoon break session with Missouri Behavioral Health Council (MBHC). The session, A Case Study: Leveraging AI and Population Health in a Value-Based World, will discuss the importance of reporting and culture changes needed within an organization to move from fee for service, including the need for a data-driven culture and data governance. This session will be led by Rachelle Glavin, Vice President of Clinical Operations, MBHC and Julie Hiett, Senior Director of Population Health, Netsmart, as they share real-life stories with attendees who will learn more about MBHC’s ability to aggregate data from multiple disparate sources into a single view and pilot artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to assess risk based on medical history.
“Through our partnership with Netsmart, we have made significant progress to our population health management approach to meet the varying levels of treatment across 33 member agencies and successfully enhance our individual care delivery,” explained Glavin. “Netsmart technology has well-positioned our organization for the future of care delivery as we are now looking at how to best utilize emerging AI techniques to enhance our work, determine patient’s risk of hospitalization and monitor levels of care.”
The Netsmart and MBHC afternoon session is currently sold out and will be held in the Caesars Forum – Ballroom #114:
